She joined Metropolitan Theatre Chorus in 1985 where her actual training began. She won in the prestigious search for G.A. Yupangco’s Yamaha Music Mate Girls and decided to pursue her career in solo. Soon after, her first album Hey It’s Me was released under OctoArts International. Her first major concert was of the same name held at the Metropolitan Theatre.

She’s been active in singing since 1987. In her 18-year career as pop singer, Jamie transformed herself to an inspirational icon what she is now. She is the country’s one and only inspirational diva and was able to release nine inspirational albums. She engages into gospel, pop and OPM genres. Jamie does not limit herself to being a singer only but also a songwriter, actress and a producer.

Jamie was assigned to represent the Philippines in Japan’s Expo ’90 by the Department of Tourism. Japan’s Expo ’90 is an international exhibition of different talents held only every twenty years. On 1993, she represented the Philippines again in the 7th ASEAN Music Festival held in Brunei Darussalam.
