Marco Sison started his singing career after his triumph of a singing segment of Student Canteen, a noontime variety show. He lasted undefeated in the show for 14 weeks. He won around 1977 or 1978 and received various offers.
Best of Marco Sison was released on 1991 under Universal Records. It comprised music of romance and easy-listening, the style accepted in the Philippines by the time. He possessed a resonant baritone and crooned like any romantic singers especially Matt Monroe. In fact, his "My Love Will See You Through" seemed based on Walk Away of Monroe in 1960.
Another hit song in the Philippines is named "Si Aida, Si Lorna, O Si Fe". It is an unusual, somewhat campy song, apparently based on American vaudeville. Usually, his crooning was accompanied by a piano or a string section. Horns were heard in tracks like "Ibigay Mo Sa Akin Ang Bukas". Its not difficult to imagine Matt Monroe singing in the album especially in numbers like "Make Believe", "Always", "I'll Face Tomorrow", "Mahal" and "Ibigay Mo Sa Akin Ang Bukas". Another interesting track, "Isusumbong Kita Sa Diyos" opened in a minor key and found resolution in a major key.
After All These Years was released by Marco Sison on 1992. The album contained easy-listening and middle-of-the-road ballads which is quite popular during the time. The album contained ten cut and eight of them were slow while the other, "Mahal Kita" possessed the spirit and "Miss Manikin" is a fully upbeat & Latin-inflected. His strong, silky voice is well-suited in handling passionate, easy-listening ballads. His performance in Miss Manikin is dealt with confidence and can probably handle upbeat songs but he is not given the opportunity to do so aside from this one song. Marco Sison performed these songs like a seasoned Matt Monroe.
After the compilation album, Best of Marco Sison which was released on 1991, Marco Sison released his Best of Marco Sison 2 on 2004. His breakout song of the album was "Make Believe".
